| Development and promotion of the gastronomic traditions of the regions, an integral part of which is the identification of authentic products and historical recipes of dishes, as well as the development of a souvenir component, is an important tool for creating a favorable image and increasing the competitiveness of the territory. The article examines the peculiarities of studying the gastronomic culture of the region (with regard to the districts in the Leningrad region), highlighted in the process of implementing the research project “Gastronomic heritage of the regions of the Leningrad region” within the framework of the project “Cultural Gastronomy.” Theoretical and practical development of the gastronomic heritage as a historical and cultural phenomenon remains quite low, which should be seen as information and communication obstacles to the development of gastronomic tourism and the formatting of the culinary brand. | Key words: Leningrad region, gastronomic culture, historical food traditions, food culture, gastronomic traditions, tourism, gastronomic tourism, tourist attraction of the region | Pages: 184 - 188 |
