| | | The article examines the expansion of capital into the virtual space; analyzes new types of capitalist enterprises such platforms and digital enterprises and examines relationships between labor and capital from the standpoint of Marxist theory. The author describes a new form of alienation of labor from capital — “digital enclosure.” Based on the works of Russian and foreign Marxist scholars, the article discusses the transformation of the mechanism for creating surplus value in the digital economy, clarifies the definition of the category “digital capital,” delineate the essence of a new, third form of surplus value and define a new contradiction of digital capitalism.
