Quotes trading system for emissions: The experience of implementing and carbon prices (Russia, Moscow)
The growth of greenhouse gas emissions remains one of the key factors that cause global climatic changes and a serious challenge to national governments. Among the key market instruments designed to limit and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and allowing to establish the actual “carbon price” are carbon taxes and the quota trade system. Analysis of the two largest quota trade systems markets in Europe and China indicates difficulties in creating unified international emissions regulation and at the same time allows predicting a significant increase in carbon price in the coming years.
Key words: greenhouse gas emissions, quota market, carbon pricing, quota trade system, greenflation
