Promising trends of innovative development in the field of high technology
(Russia, St. Petersburg)
The article identifies and examines sectors attributed to the level of the high-tech sector on the basis of the high-tech sector coefficient: the production of the main pharmaceutical products; production of computers, electronic and optical products; production of air and space aircraft. Using the Orbis database, the authors construct an aggregated sample that includes the subjects of the three of the above sectors and test the spatial structure in relation to the sample of these industries. This allows identifying four interconnected trends that determine the prospects for the innovative development of the global high-tech sector, which consist in the institutional transformation of the industries and in the change of the interaction paradigm among the subjects in the process of formation of the added value with regard to technological innovations.
Key words: mechanisms of innovative cooperation, high-tech sector of the economy, economic indicators, innovative development trends, market globalization, institutional structure, information industry, technological standard
