Dynamics and structure of mutual trade of BRICS member countries: Major development problems (Russia, St. Petersburg)

The article provides a brief history of the creation and quantitative expansion of the BRICS countries, discusses trade and economic cooperation of the BRICS member countries and presents the main directions of mutual trade between the member countries. The authors analyze indices of export and import of services among the BRICS member countries for 2019–2023, distinguish the main factors that limit the potential for the development of mutual trade, and discuss a number of external factors and the main problems that have a negative impact on the development of mutual trade between the BRICS member countries.
