| | | The article examines social instability as a global challenge to economic security and define the conditions characterizing the instability of economic systems. The authors note that social instability is associated with accumulated capital in the economic systems of society, such as economic, physiological, cultural, human, social, administrative, political, and symbolic — which can be possessed by various individuals. The article identifies factors of social instability (economic, social, political, environmental and climatic changes) and their consequences on economic development and the level of economic security of the society. The authors discuss social instability in the present-day Russia and provide their quantitative assessment.
