| | | The article focuses on the factors of transformation of the consumption stage and identifies the major directions of its change in the digital economy. It shows that the consumer becomes a central figure in this economy, the process of commodification and customization is growing, a synergy of satisfying needs is developing, and the consumption structure is changing. The author discusses features of the digital consumer, the specifics of consumption of digital goods, digital rights, and the presence of a “digital trap” for the consumer. The study identifies the reasons for the growth of simulative needs, analyzes the operation of the law of increasing simulative needs and the law of the transition of simulative needs to non-simulative needs.
